AUSTRALIA’s first Chinese restaurant will open its doors this week in Newcastle’s Little Garden.

A lot of us have grown up eating Chinese food in the states, but we have grown to be quite the same people over the last couple of years, and we want to do something different.”

The Little Gardens is home to a variety of Chinese eateries and Chinese restaurants in the community, including a new restaurant called Shanghai Dining.

“The Little Garden has always been known as a Chinatown, but in recent years we’ve seen a rise in Chinese restaurants opening in the area,” Mr Hanlon told News.

“That’s one of the reasons why we wanted to bring in a Chinese restaurant to serve Chinese food.”

There are a lot more Chinese restaurants here now than before.

“A restaurant that will cater to a different ethnic group, a different cuisine and cater to the Chinese food culture, that is something that we’ve never had to do before.”

“This is a really exciting opportunity to open up and showcase what’s happening in China, especially in the Little Garden.”

Mr Hanlon hopes to create a new and unique dining experience in Little Garden by focusing on the Chinese culture.

“What we do at the Little Gower is unique and very Chinese,” he said.

“It’s a place where the food and the Chinese people are very authentic and authentic Chinese cuisine.”

Mr Lee was inspired by the success of Chinese restaurant “Ming” in Melbourne’s CBD and has spent time working with the Chinese owners in the nearby Little Garden Restaurant.

“I think we’re on a similar trajectory, but it’s going to be a little bit more of a focus,” he told News Limited.

“It’s going be very local, it’s not going to have all the fancy food options and fancy locations.”

“It’ll be more about a really simple, traditional, traditional Chinese food experience.”

The restaurant will be opening on Sunday.
